How does graphene work?
"Graphene consists of single-layered sheets of carbon atoms. Due to its unique atomic structure, graphene exhibits quantum physical effects, making it extremely effective in reducing friction. Interestingly, friction decreases even further with an increasing number of stacked graphene sheets. It's utterly crazy, but true! Where does friction come from?
Inside: Friction and wear occur within the chain, not through the contact between the chain and the gears. Our graphene wax penetrates the interior of the chain, forming a barrier between the rollers and plates. While riding, the revolutions squeeze wax out of the chain, keeping the interior protected from dirt. The most significant losses occur when dirt is present in and on the chain (acting as an abrasive, increasing wear). That's why we advise against chain oil, as it attracts dirt, allowing it to penetrate the chain's interior directly.
Outside: The graphene and the wax create a protective layer on the chain and the teeth. There is no longer any steel-on-steel contact. Instead, graphene rubs against graphene, which is significantly more efficient.
