Chain Wax Application Guide:

The chain must be thoroughly degreased beforehand, including for new chains!

Please do not vigorously shake the bottle. Just give it one gentle "turn." Shaking too much can cause the emulsion to foam, reducing lubrication effectiveness. (More wax is used compared to oil; in this case, the motto is: more is better.)

If degreased previously: Install the chain and then apply wax.

Apply chain wax: Initially, after degreasing, apply twice with a 5-minute interval. Apply enough until a light film is present on the chain (only necessary for a freshly degreased chain, thereafter, apply only once).

Do not wipe, pedal, or shift gears after applying. The wax should only be on the chain.

Allow it to dry for 8 hours before riding.

After 150-200, sometimes 300 km, the wax should be renewed (depending on the bike and terrain). An insufficiently lubricated chain will signal. The chain can remain mounted. Apply wax while turning the crank counterclockwise until a light wax film is present on the chain. Do not wipe!

After a wet ride, be sure to wipe the chain dry and, if possible, apply liquid wax.

Known issues:

- Chain is stiff, sticky: The chain was not properly degreased.

- Rattling: Installation error or an issue with degreasing (refer to the FAQ).

- Squeaking: Lubrication is depleted; if it occurs prematurely, please pay attention to the application instructions.

- Chain runs loudly.

- Surface rust: Wipe the chain dry and store the bike in a warm and dry place whenever possible.
