Important Information!

Diagnosis:

1. In General:

   - Does the chain still run unevenly, loudly, and the links feel sticky after 50 km of hot waxing (break-in period) or generally after waxing?

Solution This is likely due to incorrect degreasing! Place the chain in a saucepan and boil it in water for 15 minutes. Oil and wax will dissolve, then degrease again with brake cleaner, let it air dry, and reapply wax!

2. Hot Wax:

   - Does the chain become louder before reaching 800-1000 km? Then the wax was boiled too hot! The wax is too liquid and drips out of the chain, affecting performance.

3. Installation Issues:

   - Derailleur pulleys are directional (rattles if incorrectly installed), there is a metal pin in the derailleur (the chain should not run over it), and old worn-out chainrings can sometimes make noise.

**Hot Wax Instructions:**

Following the steps outlined in the other instructions, degrease the components.

Place the wax in a small pot, if possible. Add the entire 375g of wax to the pot and melt it. (Never use an open flame stove, as it can lead to wax ignition. Please do not leave the wax unattended!)

Thread the chain onto a wire; this will make it much easier to remove later.

Place the chain in the pot at 90 degrees Celsius. Both the chain and wax should reach the same temperature. Turn off the stove after 5 minutes. Let the wax and chain cool. At around 60°C, a thin skin will slowly form. Then remove the chain. Some wax may stick to the outside, but it can be easily removed while still hot. Move the chain as little as possible during this process.

Carefully hang the chain over the wax bath. The warmth aids in a better cooling process. 3-5 drops are ideal; more indicates a too-hot wax bath.

Move the chain or "break" it after at least two hours. The chain can then be installed.

The chain should last 800-1000 km with one treatment. After a wet ride, ideally, wipe the chain briefly after the ride.

The chain needs to be ridden for 50 km! After that, the chain should behave like an oiled chain.
